This is a co-promotion demonstration project to bolster the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the business sector. It is aligned with the research and innovation strategies for smart specialisation (RIS3) that are based on successful R&D activities. They aim to industrially validate knowledge associated with new technologies that can be applied to products, processes or systems and demonstrate the economic advantages to a specialised public in a real situation and divulge the new technology it wants to present.

The underlying objective of Cork.a.tex-Yarn is the scalability, optimisation and industrial validation of the innovative concept of thread coated with cork additives obtained from the “Cork-a-Tex” project and to increase the productive capacity by building a pilot line to be used commercially.

It also intends to publicly demonstrate the results it obtained and its economic and technical advantages in the real world.
